Christopher Beckman

MANAGING PARTNER

Chris is an Intellectual Property (“IP”) attorney and technology consultant recognized every year in Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) 300: The World’s Leading Intellectual Property Strategists, IAM Global Leaders and Super Lawyers, among other distinctions. He has over a decade of experience, starting at a leading IP firm in Manhattan, and has helped high-tech companies develop intellectual property protecting billions of dollars in revenue. His practice centers on assisting pioneering entrepreneurs of all sizes, ranging from nascent start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.

Chris is an active member of the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association (LAIPLA) and its Technology Transactions Committee.

Chris has a passion for developing exciting new technology, backed by strong intellectual property rights. While over 95% of patents never generate a return, Chris has licensed and sold dozens of inventions and IP assets.

In addition to his legal practice, Chris has founded several start-up companies and is a successful inventor and intellectual property development consultant. He is a named inventor in over 100 U.S. patents and applications, several of which have been licensed to industry. Chris is also the co-founder of intellectual property consultancy ScoreIP, and its Big Data backbone, JudicialStats.com — pioneering analytics companies that help clients build optimal intellectual property and technology development strategies.

Katherine Kim

OF COUNSEL

Katherine is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She has fourteen years of experience litigating and prosecuting patents and trademarks.

She started her career litigating pharmaceutical patents before prosecuting patents and trademarks for technology startup ventures and counseling business clients on IP portfolio strategy. She has extensive PCT and international trademark experience.

A former angel investor, she has been mentoring entrepreneurs and startup incubator members throughout her career. Before law school, she worked as a polymer chemist in pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
